George A. Hilborn
is a native Detroiter, a graduate of Cass Technical High School in 1954.
George received his B.A. from Wayne State University, along with a Secondary
Education Certification from Wayne State's College of Education. He
was consistently on the Dean's List at Wayne State. George graduated
from Detroit College of Law in 1972. He is a member of the Michigan
Bar Association, American Trial Lawyer Association, Attorney's Information
and Exchange Group, a section of the ATLA, and he has been admitted
to practice before the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the
Third, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Circuits. George has worked on both
sides of the personal injury field as Detroit Regional Manager for in-house
counsel at Michigan Mutual Liability. George was also a staff attorney
in the product liability section of the Office of General Council at
Ford Motor Company, supervising litigation such as The Pinto gas tank
cases and "drop out of park" cases involving Ford's C4-C6
transmissions. George has been in private practice since 1981 and his
practice is concentrated in the area of products litigation. His areas
of involvement include vehicle crashworthiness, fuel systems, vehicle
rollover, airbags, and seatbelt failures to name a few. George has also
served as lead trial counsel in cases in state and federal venues throughout
the United States.
